Rene left yesterday for India. No, this is not a business trip, this is a move. He has been gone 27 hours and Benjamin and I missed him the moment he walked out the door. We miss him, but we are also so proud of him.
Rene accepted a great opportunity within his company that is taking him to yet another continent...Asia! Crazy...I know! Benjamin and I are going to keep home base in Germany. We will be part-time residents in India, as we plan to visit there a few times a year for 6-8 week periods. The more we like it, the longer our stays will be. Our dear Papa Rene will also be in Germany often for business and to come home to us. We look forward to those times that we are together.
Benjamin and I will take our first trip to India for a 2-3 week period in December. Rene will travel with us both directions for our first visit. We will return to Europe for Christmas vacation.
When I tell people about our India adventure, I get basically one of two extreme reactions:
1. A face that says: "Eeeeewww. No thanks."
2. "Cool! How exciting! Why aren't you moving there full time?" My hairdresser, even said "I'm jealous"
If you are anything like me, I know very little about India. I hope to use this blog to share what I learn about India with you, so you can learn too. Of course, once I go on my first visit, the entries will get a little more personal.
