We are back in India...and the weather is an absolute dream. Cool mornings & evenings and pleasant days...oh yeah & sunshine! We are also back in the swing of things, which means Rene has gone back to work, Benjamin is back at kindergarten, & I am trying to decide what activities I will enjoy for the next 3 or so months. Looks like my schedule will include yoga, bellydance, & painting classes. I know - life is rough.
Prior to our holiday break, there were a few times I picked up Benjamin from kindergarten and he was singing a song to the same tune as Frarajaka. I strained my ears & couldn't figure out a word of it. I even had Benjamin sing it for Domnic to see if it was in one of the 20+ Indian languages. We couldn't figure it out. Now we are back and he started singing this song again. Again, I listened closely and picked out the words "Africa, Africa" and "Aus-trail-ia, Aus-trail-ia" - okay we are on to something now. With these words, I was then able to figure out "Europe & Asia." But the for the life of me, I couldn't be convinced that the words he was saying at the beginning of the song were North America, South America, or Antartica...and when I tried to put one of those continents in the place he told me "no." So, I asked at school today...here it goes:
North America, South America
Africa, Africa
Europe & Asia, Europe & Asia
Austrailia, Austrailia
[and the following line added at the end]
And don't forget Antartica
BUT...long story made short...my 2 year old knows the 7 continents. There are loads of adults that don't know that!! I'm a proud mom.

Soon, when I am back online with my computer, I must hear this song.
ReplyDeleteGlad you and Benjamin are having a good time and getting great weather. I know Rene must be happy to come home to his family everynight.
Benjamin has quite the musical talent!
